ADULT: This running crab spider can reach up to 10mm long and has an elongate body that is creamy yellow in colour with a dark brown stripe running down the centre of the back as well as a similar coloured stripe running along each flank of the abdomen. Males are smaller and more slimmer than females. BEHAVIOUR: Has a preference for well vegetated areas where it prowls for insectivorous food. HABITAT: Both damp and dry grassy areas inland and coastal. DISTRIBUTION: Widespread in southern Britain becoming more scattered further North. PERIOD: Best found May through to September.
